APNAC
The African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption — a regional network of lawmakers dedicated to coordinating and strengthening Africa's parliamentary response to corruption since 1999.
25 years of
fighting
corruption.
Founded on the recognition that corruption poses a grave danger to the well-being of African peoples — diverting scarce resources from basic human needs and destroying confidence in the integrity of African institutions.
APNAC is the African regional chapter of GOPAC (Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption), working to build parliamentary capacity and strengthen anti-corruption institutions across the continent.
APNAC Founded
APNAC was established in 1999 in Kampala, Uganda, at a seminar themed "Parliament and Good Governance: Towards a New Agenda for Controlling Corruption in Africa."
Secretariat Restructured
The APNAC Secretariat was reconstituted, strengthening operations and expanding its reach across member nations.
9th Biennial General Meeting
APNAC held its 9th Biennial General Meeting under the theme "Creating Synergies for an Effective Fight Against Corruption: The Role of Parliament and Parliamentarians."
Nigeria Chapter Established
The APNAC Nigeria Chapter was established in 2004 and has remained an active, operational chapter — strengthening parliamentary capacity, promoting transparency, and fighting corruption across Nigeria's legislative institutions.

Full Membership
With Voting RightsFull membership is open to current and past lawmakers who are committed to integrating transparency and accountability into their legislative duties.
Active members of the National Assembly of Nigeria (both the Senate and the House of Representatives).
Active members of any of the 36 State Houses of Assembly.
Past senators, federal representatives, or state assembly members who wish to continue supporting anti-graft initiatives.
Candidate Membership
Prospective LawmakersTo foster accountability in incoming leadership, APNAC Nigeria extends membership to prospective lawmakers.
Duly cleared and registered National Assembly candidates from any political party in Nigeria for the upcoming legislative cycle.
Honorary & Technical Membership
Non-VotingWe welcome strategic partners and technical experts who support the legislative fight against corruption.
Committee clerks, policy researchers, and legislative aides assisting lawmakers in crafting anti-corruption policies.

Parliamentary Candidate Membership

Applicants must have been duly nominated by a political party and have appeared on the official ballot.

Honorary Membership
Honorary Membership is the highest non-elective category of membership and is conferred by the National Executive Committee upon distinguished individuals who have rendered exceptional service in promoting Democracy, Parliamentary Development, Good Governance, Integrity, Transparency, Accountability, Rule of Law, Anti-Corruption, and Public Service. Honorary Membership is conferred strictly by invitation and is not open to application.
General Membership Requirements
Applicants for membership shall meet the following requirements:
Support the Vision, Mission and Objectives of APNAC Nigeria.
Demonstrate commitment to integrity, accountability and ethical leadership.
Agree to abide by the Constitution, Code of Conduct, Regulations and Policies of APNAC Nigeria.
Complete the prescribed membership registration process.
Pay the applicable membership registration and annual subscription fees, where required.
